1. Scope of the Service
ByeByeBox provides on-demand doorstep retrieval and drop-off coordination for customer-prepared parcels destined for major courier networks. Our current drop-off destinations include USPS, UPS, FedEx, and retail shipping partner hubs.
ByeByeBox is an independent logistics facilitator, not a primary freight carrier. We do not oversee or execute the end-mile transit of your items.
The Service is formally fulfilled the moment your package is scanned, handed over to an authorized courier agent, or safely deposited into an official carrier drop-box.
2. Packaging Responsibility & Packing Disclaimer
Customers who opt out of our professional packing service assume complete liability for ensuring items are safely, securely, and compliantly boxed for transit.
Customers selecting our professional packing service acknowledge and agree:
- Packing materials consist of standard commercial shipping supplies (corrugated cartons, bubble wrap, packing paper, and heavy-duty tape).
- Our couriers and staff are logistics handlers, not certified structural packaging engineers or professional restoration artists.
- We are not liable for any structural or cosmetic damage to items packed by our team, except in verified instances of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Excluded High-Risk Items
The following items are deemed inherently fragile or volatile and are strictly excluded from all packing liability coverage, regardless of the packing method utilized:
- Televisions, computer monitors, and electronic displays of any size
- Plate glass, unframed mirrors, neon signs, and delicate ceramics
- Antiques, rare collectibles, fine art, sculptures, and porcelain figurines
- Musical instruments (acoustic or electric)
- Any items exhibiting pre-existing structural weakness or prior damage
Electronics Special Provisions
For electronics such as desktop computers, laptops, and tablets, any limited liability coverage applies strictly to external casing and housing damage. We assume zero liability for internal component failure, cracked screens, internal hardware displacement, data loss, or software corruption under any circumstances.
We accept no liability for damage resulting from improper or inadequate packaging — whether performed independently by the customer or by our staff — outside of the explicit provisions outlined above.
3. Claims Process
If you believe an item was lost or damaged while in ByeByeBox possession (spanning from initial carrier scan to final delivery confirmation), the following protocol applies:
A. Notification Deadline
You must report any loss or visible damage to ByeByeBox within 48 hours of the final delivery timestamp or the last tracking update. Claims filed outside this window will be automatically declined.
B. Evidence & Inspection Requirements
The recipient must keep all original shipping boxes, internal packing materials, and the damaged item available for physical or digital inspection. Discarding any packaging materials prior to the completion of the claim review will void your eligibility.
C. Maximum Claim Payout
Approved claims are strictly capped at the lowest of the following amounts:
- The actual cash value of the item at the time of shipment
- The documented cost to repair the item
- A maximum liability limit of $150 USD per shipment, as outlined in Section 9A
D. How to File a Claim
Send an email to claims@byebyebox.com including your tracking number, clear photographs of the damaged goods and packaging, and a detailed description of the issue. Our team will review and respond within 3 business days.
4. Assumption of Risk & Transfer of Custody
Risk of loss and damage transfers to ByeByeBox only when an authorized representative physically receives the shipment and issues a formal intake confirmation.
Risk remains with the shipper if:
- The shipment is left in unsecured drop boxes or common areas prior to intake scan
- The item is lost or stolen before formal intake confirmation is recorded
- The contents are insufficiently or hazardously packaged to withstand standard transit
Risk transfers from ByeByeBox to the downstream carrier upon the carrier's initial scan, facility acceptance, or official pickup drop-off receipt.
5. Pickup Windows & Access
- Pickup timeframes are estimates and subject to operational variance.
- You are responsible for providing clear, accurate access instructions and location details.
- If a driver cannot access the premises or the shipment is unprepared upon arrival, a No-Show fee equal to the standard pickup charge will be applied.
6. Fees & Payment
- All service fees, surcharges, and estimated rates are billed according to the active pricing schedule at the time of booking.
- Payments must be authorized using a valid, approved payment method prior to dispatch or release of the shipment.
- Overdue balances or failed transactions may result in a temporary suspension of account privileges and delayed transit times.
7. Label & Documentation Responsibility
You bear sole responsibility for:
- Supplying a valid, fully legible shipping label or scannable QR code.
- Verifying that the designated label accurately corresponds to the enclosed contents.
- Ensuring the shipment complies fully with all applicable carrier regulations and restrictions.
Should a carrier refuse or reject a shipment due to invalid, expired, incorrect, or noncompliant labeling or documentation:
- ByeByeBox reserves the right to hold the package for a maximum grace period of 48 hours.
- You are required to provide a corrected, compliant label within this 48-hour window.
- ByeByeBox may assess a re-processing, re-delivery, or re-attempt fee for handling rejected shipments.
- ByeByeBox assumes no liability for transit delays resulting from carrier rejections.
8. Prohibited & Restricted Items
ByeByeBox reserves the right to decline, inspect, or refuse any shipment that includes:
- Illegal substances, contraband, or regulated illicit items.
- Hazardous materials, explosives, or flammable substances.
- Loose lithium-ion batteries or uninstalled power cells.
- Firearms, weaponry, ammunition, or tactical components.
- Currency, cash, bullion, or other negotiable instruments.
- Items exceeding an actual or declared value of $600.
- Shipments exceeding 75 lbs in weight or standard dimensional limits of 36 x 36 x 36 inches.

- Inadequately or improperly packaged contents.
ByeByeBox and its authorized representatives reserve the absolute right to refuse service or reject packages at the point of pickup if any restrictions are violated.
9. Exclusion & Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
A. Liability Limits
ByeByeBox's total cumulative liability for any claim, including lost, stolen, or damaged packages while in our physical custody, is strictly capped at a maximum of $100 USD per order.
B. Coverage Responsibility (No Insurance)
ByeByeBox does not provide cargo or transit insurance. You are solely responsible for securing independent insurance or purchasing coverage through the third-party carrier when generating your shipping labels for high-value goods.
C. Indirect Damages
ByeByeBox shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, missed business opportunities, or emotional distress.
D. Carrier or Retail Responsibility
ByeByeBox assumes zero liability for any loss, transit delay, or damage that occurs after the shipment has been accepted, scanned, or handed off to the downstream third-party carrier.
10. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
- Any and all disputes, claims, or controversies arising out of or relating to these terms or our services shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its applicable consumer rules.
- Arbitration proceedings will take place in Los Angeles County, California.
- You explicitly waive any right to a jury trial or to participate as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action, collective proceeding, or representative lawsuit.
